Finishing: The final touch that makes all the difference

The manufacture of Keys Or of rooms according to plan is not limited only to the manufacturing phase. An essential step completes this process: the completion. It is a set of techniques and treatments applied to parts in order to give them the characteristics necessary for their final use. In this article we are going to explore the different stages of completion.

Definition of completion

The completion is a crucial step in the process of manufacturing a part. It consists of carrying out the final machining operations to give the part its final shape and dimensions, so that it can become functional or move on to the next production stage.

Finishing also makes it possible to refine the tolerances and the surface finish of the part, using techniques such as chamfering or drilling. At Gardette, we have a fleet of cutting-edge machine tools to produce completion of our parts with precision and efficiency.

Finishing at Gardette Industries

At Gardette, the first function consists of mechanical work that aims to give the piece the desired shape.
To do this, we use various machines.

Flow and cubing operations

  • Milling machines for various operations: Milling machines are used to cut parts, to make cubing, shoulders, chamfers and slopes on the parts.
  • Flow and cubing: Flow consists in cutting the parts according to the desired dimensions, while cubing makes it possible to create flat surfaces on the parts to obtain precise tolerances on the perpendicularity between the faces.

Work on parts with machining centers
Features of machining centers: Machining centers are automated machine tools that allow various operations such as drilling, tapping, milling and chamfering with high precision.
Details on operations:

  • Drilling and tapping: creating precise holes and threads in parts.
  • Milling: removal of material to create flat surfaces or specific shapes.
  • Chamfering: creating bevels on the edges of the parts.

Use of grinding machines
How grinding machines work: Grinding machines with abrasive wheels are used to polish and even out the surfaces of the parts, offering precise tolerance and a high-quality finish.

Types of grinding machines at Gardette

  • Surface grinding machines: for grinding a single flat surface of parts.
  • Double-sided grinding machines: to simultaneously grind the two opposing surfaces of the parts, ensuring perfect flatness.

Customization of parts and automation

  • Marking parts: We carry out marking operations on your parts with a dot peen marking machine, offering permanent and reliable customization of the parts.
  • Automation of the production process: We have two robotic cells for loading and unloading machining centers, thus optimizing production efficiency.

The treatment at Gardette Industries

The second function consists in carrying out a heat and surface treatment, in order to obtain the metallurgical structure, aesthetic or protective aspect necessary for the part.

At Gardette, we have an oven that allows us to perform an annealing heat treatment.

In addition, we are in a position to provide various types of heat and surface treatments according to the specific requirements of our customers. If the customer requests a particular heat or surface treatment such as tempering, tempering, galvanizing, burnishing, painting... We have trusted partners with whom we work regularly to offer our customers a comprehensive service and meet their specific needs.

In conclusion, the completion is an essential step in the manufacture of parts, involving mechanical operations and treatments. At Gardette Industries, we use advanced machine tools to ensure accurate and efficient completion, meeting the specific needs of our customers.
