Helicoil thread taps

What is the difference between a conventional tap and a threaded tap?

The external diameter of a tap for helicoil thread is slightly larger, offering the capacity to accommodate the threaded insert while tapping the precise diameter necessary for the insertion of your screw.

Our thread taps ensure a precise and clean cut. Since each material reacts differently during the tapping process (especially in terms of chip formation), it is essential to use the tap that is right for the specific material, with the right cutting angles and the right surface treatment.

Precise fit and stability are the distinguishing features of our taps compared to traditional models. For their manufacture, we use exclusively high quality steel, thus guaranteeing an extended life for your tools.

Our STI or EG taps are produced to exacting standards in HSS or HSSE steel.

Choosing the right tap

Single cut tap

Whether you want to tap by hand or with a machine, the single cut tap will suit you perfectly. We recommend using it for thread repairs as well as for tapping in small batches. This single-cut tap has only one flute, the flutes absorb chips and are therefore not suitable for serial production.

Eco machine tap, for blind holes and through holes (Medium series)

The Eco HSSE machine tap is the specialist in medium series production.

We offer you two models:

We recommend using an Eco machine tap for your applications on steel materials up to 750 N/mm².

Pro machine tap, for blind holes and through holes (Great series)

The PRO HSSE machine tap, the ideal tap for mass production. One of the most robust in our range, if not the most robust, it is capable of tapping:

  • Cementation steel
  • Treated steel and cast steel up to 1,000 N/mm²
  • Concrete steel
  • Wrought aluminum alloys
  • Soft and red brass
  • Copper

Whether it is a through hole Or of a Blind hole, the PRO machine tap works quickly and is sure to impress you with its ease of use and excellent lifespan.

Combined tap (tapping and threading)

For mild steels or non-ferrous metals such as aluminum or magnesium, combined tap is an excellent compromise. It has a guide nose that engages in the old faulty thread, expands it and then cuts the thread receiving the thread.

Because of its nose, the tool is only suitable for through holes

The combined tap and is often used for the repair of spark plug threads.

Why choose a combination tap?

  • Its versatility : a combined tap makes it possible to drill and tap a hole at the same time, which reduces the number of operations required.

  • A time-saver : by combining two steps into one, the manufacturing process is accelerated, saving time during production.

  • A gain in precision : the combined tap ensures precise alignment of the thread in relation to the drilled hole, which guarantees correct threading and a better quality of finish.

A space saver : by using a single tool to perform two operations, it frees up space in the workshop or on the production line, which can be valuable in manufacturing environments where space is limited.
